BOSTON (AP) - The Minnesota Twins recalled left-hander Jose Mijares from Triple-A Rochester on Tuesday to take the roster spot of right-hander Jesse Crain.
Crain went on the disabled list Monday with a swollen right shoulder. Twins manager Ron Gardenhire says an MRI on Crain's shoulder revealed no serious damage.Crain was 1-0 with a 7.50 ERA in seven relief appearances this year. He last pitched on Friday when he allowed four runs, three hits and three walks while retiring just one batter.
Mijares was 1-0 with one save in five minor league appearances, all in relief, this season.
