--3B Joe Crede missed a pair of weekend games after suffering back spasms during Friday's game in New York. Crede said the tightness was minor, but manager Ron Gardenhire said, "We're taking no chances." Crede has had back surgery in each of the past two off-seasons. Crede felt better Sunday and could return Monday night. --RHP Jesse Crain threw six consecutive fastballs to Johnny Damon in the 10th inning. The sixth landed in the bleachers, raising Crain's ERA to an alarming 9.00. "I couldn't get him in a breaking ball count," Crain said.
MEDICAL WATCH:
3B Joe Crede (back stiffness) came out of the May 15 game and didn't play May 16. He is expected to get at least another day or two off.
RHP Boof Bonser (torn right labrum and rotator cuff surgery in February 2009) went on the 15-day disabled list April 2. He is out for the season.
RHP Pat Neshek (right elbow surgery) went on the 60-day disabled list Feb. 21. He will remain in Florida all summer and targets a return by next spring.
