--RF Michael Cuddyer extended his hitting streak to seven games Tuesday with a single, but his run of three consecutive two-hit games ended. Cuddyer is 10-for-22 (.455) during the streak, with seven RBIs.

--DH Jason Kubel's three-hit night lifted him above .300 for the season, to .315. Kubel hasn't gotten as much attention as Joe Mauer and Justin Morneau, but has been just as reliable. He is batting .361 in his last 16 games, with hits in 12 of them.

--RHP Jesse Crain threw a mop-up inning in the seventh Tuesday, and he made quick work of three straight hitters. It was Crain's first appearance on the mound since April 17, when he felt unusual soreness in his pitching shoulder. Now that he's healthy again, Crain is expected to share eighth-inning setup duties with LHP Jose Mijares.

--LHP Craig Breslow bounced back from his three-walk disaster a few days earlier to pitch a scoreless inning Tuesday, but still gave up a hit and a walk. Breslow's control problems have cost him the confidence of his manager, who lately has been reluctant to use him with a lead.

MEDICAL WATCH:

RHP Boof Bonser (torn right labrum and rotator cuff surgery in February 2009) went on the 15-day disabled list April 2. He is out for the season.

RHP Pat Neshek (right elbow surgery) went on the 60-day disabled list Feb. 21. He will remain in Florida all summer and targets a return by next spring.
