--INF Nick Punto, who went 2-for-4 Tuesday night, is batting .328 with six multi-hit games this month. He is now batting .389 against Chicago this season.
--2B Alexi Casilla's sore right thumb will force him onto the disabled list. An X-ray on Casilla's thumb showed no break, but an MRI showed a tear in the same ligament that forced Matt Tolbert into surgery earlier this season, manager Ron Gardenhire said.
