--With a double in his first at-bat, OF Denard Span reached base in eight straight plate appearances. The last Twin to do that was Joe Mauer in June 2006. --Minnesota mustered eight hits in the win over the Tigers, and 2B Alexi Casilla had three of them. Casilla is now batting .314 with a .358 on-base percentage and 36 RBIs in 50 games with the Twins.
--LHP Glen Perkins improved to 2-0 with a 2.42 ERA in three career starts against the Tigers.
--By going 1-for-2 with a double and a walk, INF Nick Punto extended his hitting streak to eight games. He's batting .480 (12-for-25) during that time.
BY THE NUMBERS: The Twins entered Sunday's game against Cleveland with a 31-18 record at the Metrodome this season, tied for the second most home wins in the American League, with the AL's fourth-best home batting average (.287) and the second-most runs (248 behind Chicago's 255).
