--RHP Kevin Slowey retired the first 10 Brewers he faced Sunday and struck out a season-high eight batters. Slowey has not allowed a run in his last 16 innings or work and has a 0.93 ERA in his last four starts (29 innings).
--2B Alexi Casilla returned to the lineup Sunday after missing part of Friday's game and all of Saturday's game with a sprained left middle finger. Casilla injured the finger diving headfirst into first base Friday night but needed no MRI or X-rays before being cleared to play. --LHP Dennys Reyes suffered a right knee strain Thursday in San Diego had healed enough by Saturday night that the reliever was available for Sunday's game, though Ron Gardenhire said he avoided using him. The lefty specialist was fine to pitch by Sunday.
--DH/OF Jason Kubel was batting .341 against the National League and .417 with five home runs (four this season) in his career against the Brewers before Sunday's game.
--Minnesota finished up interleague play with a 14-4 record. The Twins are 41-13 against the National League since 2006 and have won 15 of 18 interleague series during that time.
