--CF Ben Revere, the Twins' first-round pick in the 2007 draft, had arthroscopic surgery on his right knee to remove bone chips, a minor procedure that didn't keep the 20-year-old from taking part in Instructional League action. Revere hit .379 for Class A Beloit this season, and he stole 44 bases.

--RHP Pat Neshek plans to throw off a pitcher's mound sometime in late October for the first time since he injured an elbow ligament May 8. Neshek, who so far has avoided surgery, has been throwing daily at varying distances to build up his arm strength, and he has experienced no recurrence of pain.

--RF Michael Cuddyer has settled into his position after three years of shuffling around other spots. But with a surplus of outfielders, rumors have made the rounds in Minnesota that Cuddyer might be asked to move back to third base, where he played for two seasons without much distinction earlier in his career. "You'd have to ask the manager about that," general manager Bill Smith said, "and I haven't."

BY THE NUMBERS: .308 -- C Mike Redmond's career average in four seasons with Minnesota, a success rate that made the Twins' decision to bring him back next season an easy one.
