Minnesota Twins Notes, Quotes 2008-09-27
--LHP Francisco Liriano lost at the Metrodome for just the third time in his career, making his record at the Dome 10-3 (16 starts). It was his first loss since April 24 at Oakland, though for a great deal of that time Liriano was pitching his way back to the majors at Class AAA Rochester.

--RF Denard Span's triple boosted his recent Metrodome surge. He's now batting .351 with 15 runs scored (he scored Minnesota's only run Friday) in his last 14 games at home.

--3B Brian Buscher left Friday's game feeling light-headed. Gardenhire said the infielder has been battling the flu and should be ready to play Saturday afternoon against Kansas City.

--An MRI on Kevin Slowey's bruised right wrist was clear. Slowey was hit by a come-backer in Thursday's win over Chicago and had to leave the game. The starter must now wait for the swelling to go down and see when he can resume throwing before the team will know when he can pitch.

--Friday's one-run output was the 19th time this season the Twins have scored one or no runs in a ballgame.

BY THE NUMBERS: 5 -- Hits in the last 30 at-bats for the struggling Justin Morneau, as of Sept. 26.

QUOTE TO NOTE: "We just have to come back tomorrow and find a way to win two games. We have to take care of our own business." -- Denard Span, following a disappointing loss to the Royals Friday.
