Luis Matos, an outfielder who has played 508 games with the Orioles and Nationals over the past seven seasons, will be in training camp, along with pitchers Mike Gosling, a left-hander who has appeared in 43 games with Arizona and Cincinnati; R.A. Dickey, a right-handed knuckleballer who has pitched 109 games for Texas and Seattle; Sean Henn, a left-handed reliever who has appeared in 40 games for the Yankees and Padres; and Bobby Keppel, a right-hander with six starts and six relief appearances for the Royals and Rockies. Keppel and Dickey are former first-round draft picks, while Gosling was a second-rounder. The other 10 players invited to camp all spent the 2008 season in the Twins' farm system. Right-hander Kevin Mulvey and infielder Alejandro Machado spent last year with Class AAA Rochester, catcher Danny Lehmann was at Class A Fort Myers, and the other seven primarily played for Class AA New Britain: outfielders Dustin Martin and David Winfree, first baseman Brock Peterson, third baseman Danny Valencia, catcher Jeff Christy, and pitchers Ben Julianel, a left-hander, and Rob Delaney.
Those 15 players will join the members of the Twins' 40-man roster in Fort Myers, Fla., beginning Feb. 15 for pitchers and catchers, and Feb. 20 for the remainder of the team.
