During Morneau's rough patch, he has had tough luck on several hard-hit balls.
"That's baseball. Sometimes you hit it off the end of the bat and bloop it in there, sometimes you hit it as hard as you can and it goes right at somebody," Morneau said after Saturday's game. "I felt better swinging today, except for the last at-bat, but didn't feel too bad. Hit it hard at the second baseman, was about four feet from a homer and that was about it."
Unfortunately for Morneau, things don't promise to get much better this week in Toronto, where the Canadian is 8-for-45 in his career with a .229 on-base percentage and three extra base hits.
INDIANS 3, TWINS 1: LHP David Huff held Minnesota to two hits and one run in seven innings. 2B Nick Punto and RF Denard Span were the only Twins to muster a hit off of Huff, and the Twins had just three hits in the game. Now 1-2 to start a seven-game road trip, Minnesota headed to Toronto, where they've lost seven straight and nine of their last 10 games at the Rogers Centre.
