Joe Mauer will officially begin his minor-league rehab stint on Friday, playing for Class A Fort Myers at Palm Beach, a Twins spokesman said today.

Mauer, who is on the disabled list with an inflamed right sacroiliac joint, remains on pace to rejoin the Twins on May 1. He is expected to play six games with the Fort Myers Miracle.

Minnesota came into today 13th in the AL in runs per game. Theyll be happy to get their offensive force behind the plate to the plate.
