Injured Redmond out of Tuesday's lineup for Twins
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Minnesota Twins catcher Mike Redmond will miss at least one game because of a pulled groin.

Redmond was out of Tuesday's lineup after hurting himself while running out a grounder on Monday night, and rookie Jose Morales was behind the plate for the game against Seattle.

Redmond tested the injury during pregame workouts and nodded his head when manager Ron Gardenhire asked him how he was feeling. Gardenhire said Redmond would be re-evaluated Wednesday but is available to catch in an emergency.

"We'll carry him out there if need be," Gardenhire said. "Right now he's OK, that's barely OK."

Redmond, known for playing through nagging injuries, was thrust into the starting catcher job to start the season while All-Star Joe Mauer rehabs his injured back in Florida.

"I've never just been able to go out there and play feeling good," Redmond joked.

Redmond said he will try to play through the injury.

"Tomorrow hopefully if it gets better hopefully I should be ready to go," he said. "Because I understand the situation we're in and if I can do it I'm absolutely 100 percent going to try."
