MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Minnesota Twins third baseman Joe Crede will be away from the team this weekend after the birth of his daughter.
Brendan Harris was in the lineup in Crede's place for Friday's game against the Kansas City Royals.Manager Ron Gardenhire said Crede was in Missouri with his wife and would miss a few days. The Twins next travel to Detroit for a game against the Tigers on Monday.
Center fielder Carlos Gomez returned to the Twins on Friday after some time in the delivery room himself. His wife gave birth to baby boy Yendel earlier in the week. Gomez was in the lineup.
