Jan. 13--The Pittsburgh Pirates agreed to terms today with former Tigers outfielder Craig Monroe.
Monroe hit .202, with eight home runs and 29 RBIs, in 58 games last season with the Minnesota Twins. He has a .253 average with 112 home runs and 417 RBIs over his career, which includes stints with Texas (2001), the Tigers (2002-07), Chicago Cubs (2007), as well as the Twins. Monroe had a career-high 28 homers and 92 RBIs for the Tigers in 2006, the last time the club won the American League championship.
